* Medicare distinguishes between generalist psychologists who have the required training to treat mental health problems and specialist psychologists who have clinical expertise as a result of additional training.

If you are eligible (ie meet recognised criteria for psychological problems of various kinds), you can access up to 12 sessions per year under Medicare.
